This series of documents deal with the application of social science research in the Family Studies classroom. It is posted to this site as 10 smaller documents to allow teachers to access only the materials they require. The first part of the document is an overview and would be useful to all teachers. The remaining documents are specific to the various courses taught between grade 9 and 12. Each is posted by course title. Some of these documents are large in size and may take a significant amount of time to download.

Two of these documents are related directly to the course profiles released in the Spring of 2001. These materials were developed with consideration of the preplanning and scoping done in the original course profile. All attempts were made to be consistent with the intent of the original document. The original course profiles, both the public and Catholic documents, can be downloaded form the Ontario Curriculum Centre’s website at http://www.curriculum.org/occ/profiles/profiles.htm.
The third document titled "Social Sciences and Humanities: Family Studies Career Focused Activities" is a career focused activity package that has been designed to help students learn more about the Family Studies careers and jobs that are available for them. The activities provided were based on the expectations of the Grade 10 Careers and the Grade 9 -11 Social Sciences and Humanities: Family Studies courses.
